ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
?Develop and implement strategies to drive global culture of compliance and compliance-focused tone at all s of management throughout the Greater China operations of the Company.
?Oversee and manage the Company’s Greater China Compliance Program, and work in collaboration with the Vice-President, Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer to ensure the Greater China regional program is appropriately designed and implemented.
?Create, implement, and maintain (including periodic review and enhancement) policies and procedures for the general operation of compliance program for Greater China, including review and approval processes designed to mitigate the risks of illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
?Develop and maintain global, third-party diligence processes and coordinate with other regional Compliance Directors and other relevant functional areas (e.g., Commercial, Procurement, Finance), as appropriate, to integrate and execute the third-party diligence process for the Greater China region.
?Develop and coordinate with the Vice-President, Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer and other relevant functional areas (e.g., H.R., Communications) on the execution of a training and communications program for the Greater China region.
?Working with the Vice-President, Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer (and later the Head of Investigations, Risk Assessment, Monitoring, and Special Projects), support the development and execution of the risk assessment and monitoring program for the Greater China region.
?Work with the Vice-President, Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer to develop and maintain open dialogue with other departments with compliance-related responsibilities (e.g. Legal, Finance, Risk Management, Internal Audit) to ensure effective communication of risk, and ongoing evolution of the compliance program and internal controls work across the Greater China region.
?Support the Vice-President and Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer in providing periodic reporting to the Company’s executive management team, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors, as well as external stakeholders, such as the Company’s statutory auditors, as needed.
?Working with the Vice-President and Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer, develop the compliance and ethics brand of the Company through strategic participation in external events.

QUALIFICATIONS
?Self-motivated and able to perform role independently, with a minimum level of supervision.
?Excellent communications skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts in ways that are understood and able by cross-functional teams (e.g., translate complex requirements into practical suggestions and real-world solutions).
?Proven ability to cultivate strong stakeholder relationships and successfully influence leadership and peers in a fast paced, innovative business environment.
?Ability to interact and collaborate autonomously with business clients and other stakeholders at all levels and capacities across the organization (e.g., Internal Audit, Finance, HR).
?Strong business acumen.
?Ability to effectively facilitate and manage meetings, as well as complex strategic conversations.
?Strong presentation skills involving audiences with various s, and ability to adjust message and filter details based on audience.
?Strong project management skills and experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
?Ability and willingness to:
oGain deep understanding of business strategies and actively advise business on compliance risks
oDevise and deliver tailored education programs to key client groups on a range of policy and compliance matters and
oActively anticipate, develop and advocate positions on important compliance matters impacting business ives.
?Flexibility to travel as needed.
?Language fluency for Greater China Region (ex. Mandarin, and possibly Cantonese, etc.) a must.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
?Legal degree (JD) from a top-tier law school with active bar membership strongly preferred.
?Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in ethics and compliance with significant experience in the medical device, medical technology, or healthcare industry strongly preferred.
?Substantial professional work experience in developing and implementing corporate compliance programs, including, policy and procedure development, and development / execution of training, third party, risk assessment, and monitoring programs.
?Substantial professional work experience in conducting and overseeing all types of internal investigations, especially those in the healthcare industry, and managing hot-line allegations.
?Understanding of and experience with the various anti-corruption laws in the Greater China Region, the Foreign Corruption Practices Act, UK Bribery Act, etc.
?Other experience in the healthcare industry, such as commercial experience, with a preference for device and/or biotech experience.
